Todoist is brilliant at organizing work. Views, Projects, Filters, and Labels give you a system for everything — but a full list on a busy Mac desktop is still a lot to hold in your head. You switch to email, then Slack, then a browser tab, and the thread you were following vanishes. Minus.app Task Bar closes that gap by keeping one Todoist task visible on your desktop while you move between apps.Todoist and Minus work together so you can achieve better concentration for a more satisfying and productive day. When you integrate the two, you see the top item from your chosen Todoist source directly on your Mac — not buried inside another window. What is the Minus Task Bar?Task Bar is a minimal floating companion that lives on your macOS desktop. It displays the current task from a connected text source and helps you remember what you are working on as you switch around applications and websites. It is designed for one thing at a time — the opposite of a tab bar full of competing priorities.
A deep work app helps you focus on one task at a time. Task Bar makes that task impossible to forget.
Connecting Task Bar to TodoistTodoist is a first-class Task Bar connector and has an official listing on the Todoist Integrations directory. The connection uses your Todoist API key and is available with Minus Pro. Once linked, Task Bar reads tasks from whichever Todoist source you choose and keeps them current through two-way sync — complete or update a task in Task Bar and Todoist reflects the change.Connect to virtually any aspect of TodoistUnlike a simple project picker, the Task Bar connector can link to nearly any slice of your Todoist account. Choose the source that matches how you actually work:ViewsPull tasks from built-in Views like Inbox, Today, or Upcoming. Ideal when you want Task Bar to mirror Todoist's daily rhythm — whatever is due now, surfaced on your desktop.ProjectsConnect to any project list — Work, Errands, Personal, Shopping, or a dedicated project you created for a specific initiative. Task Bar shows the next task from that project's sort order.FiltersUse custom Todoist Filters as a source. If you have a filter that surfaces high-priority work, overdue items, or a themed batch of tasks, Task Bar can display them one at a time on your desktop.LabelsConnect by Label — for example, everything tagged @Critical or @DeepWork. Labels let you cut across projects and pull a focused queue without rebuilding your Todoist structure.

Two ways to work through your tasksTask Bar supports two workflows depending on how much structure you want in the moment.Sequential flowWork on one task at a time. When you complete or advance a task, Task Bar serves the next available item from your chosen source. This is the default rhythm — steady, automatic, and ideal for getting unstuck when a long list feels paralyzing.Browse your own orderOpen the Task Bar list menu to jump to a specific task and set your own sequence. Priorities shifted mid-day? Pick the task that matters now instead of waiting for the queue to catch up. You stay in control while still benefiting from a single visible focus point on the desktop. What Todoist users get
